CLT Program Graduate Outcomes
Under the supervision of a medical technologist or physician, the certified Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT - also know as Medical Laboratory Technician) performs highly complex laboratory analyses ranging from detailed manual procedures to sophisticated computerized technology.
Health care providers rely heavily on the results generated by clinical laboratory personnel. Very often, a diagnosis depends on the results of laboratory testing. As the detectives in the health care field, clinical laboratory technicians use their skills to provide the physicians the results they need to diagnose, treat, and prevent disease.
The Clinical Laboratory Technician Program at NHCTC-Claremont integrates technical, theoretical, and general studies that prepare the student for the world of clinical laboratory science. The program includes twenty weeks in accredited clinical laboratories further developing specific skills in the areas of phlebotomy, blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology. Some students choose to use our Phlebotomy Program as a stepping stone to this program
The program is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
