PROGRAMMATIC LEARNING OBJECTIVES

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS

Early childhood teachers educate and care for young children aged birth through eight years. They play multiple roles and manage varied responsibilities including, but not limited to, planning learning environments, implementing activities, and guiding behavior. In addition to working with young children, early childhood teachers also work with adults such as families and other professionals.

EMPLOYMENT

Employment opportunities are expected to continue to rise. More American families are accessing early childhood programs. Adults returning to the workforce as part of welfare reform will need services. Finally, publicly funded early childhood programs also continue to expand.
