The Role of the Physical Therapist Assistant
A physical therapist assistant (PTA) is a member of the health care team who, under the supervision and direction of the physical therapist, helps patients "get back on their feet again". The PTA has completed an accredited two-year associate degree program, and in most states, is licensed via successful completion of a national exam.
